About ConvexValue

ConvexValue is a financial analytics software product. It consists of two parts:

  • a desktop app
  • a collection of financial analytics modules.

The desktop app is like a web-browser. It is custom-built from the ground-up and optimized for financial analysis. It features split-pane capabilities and allows you to create, save, and share dashboards made up with modules.

Modules are mini-websites - or widgets - that display financial metrics, charts, visualizations, indicators, etc. You use them to create dashboards.

You might combine certain modules to make a dashboard that monitors a market sector, another one to research a trade opportunity, another to keep an eye on tech-stock volatility, and so on. You can save your dashboards to pick up your work later, share them with friends, and learn from others.

Together - the desktop app and the collection of modules - create a new financial analytics experience.

The ConvexValue Experience.

The goal of The ConvexValue Experience is to improve your financial analysis by providing:

  • better tools
  • lower costs
  • better workflow

First, let’s illustrate the current landscape.

Status Quo

The current landscape is made up of two categories of tools: Free and Paid.

“Free”

There are plenty of valuable “free” tools and data. In many cases you do not need to go further than this.

An example is Yahoo Finance - which hosts a great selection of useful financial indicators.

You’ll also notice it hosts a not-so-great selection of ads and extra-curricular content. Their business model depends on it.

When you are looking for data - a number, a table, a chart - and you have to dodge an artillery of ads and scripts feeding you content to get it, it is distracting.

Paid

There are some good paid services out there too.

The problem is that due to the nature of providing financial analytics tools (high data, license, and infrastructure costs) - the only way for many of these services to stay in business is via very high markups. They then feel the need to pack their services with sub-par features to justify the initial cost.

The result for you is that you end up paying multiple - often redundant - over-priced subscriptions.

Browser-bloat

Whether you use free or paid tools, you use them on your browser (Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Brave, etc.).

It is likely you’ve found yourself in a situation where you have 100 browser tabs open in a slew of windows splattered around your desktop and your computer fan starts to whirl.

Hidden within those tabs - like needles in a haystack - are important numbers, tables, charts that you need to inform yourself to make a trade.

But for every 1 byte of important data, there are 100 bytes of unnecessary bloat consuming your computer and mental bandwidth.

To add to your troubles - there is no ergonomic way for you to organize all of this scattered information so as to extract insight. So you are doomed to continue opening tabs until you or your computer declares browser bankruptcy and you have to close everything - loosing any hints of insight along the way.

The Result:

The result is that you are navigating a slew of ad-ridden and poor UI/UX websites for Free data, over-paying for redundant Paid services, all in a mess of un-organizable browser windows that consume your mind and your computer. You are working against the tide of disorder and distraction.

  • tools: bloated
  • costs: high
  • workflow: impossible

But there is a better way.

The ConvexValue Solution

Our solution is not yet-another financial web-app for you to add to your pile of Google Chrome tabs.

It it an end-to-end product - browser and suite of financial modules - designed to improve your financial experience on these 3 areas: tools, costs, workflow.

Tools:

We provide the tools you need.

No ads, no unrequested content, no bloat. Just the data you are looking for.

Ranging from “Free” publicly available tools - to high-fidelity advanced live analytics (for which you would likely be over-paying elsewhere).

Costs:

Our product architecture and infrastructure - which is groundbreaking technology* - allow us to operate a parallel factory-line of sorts, where we can deliver more and better tools (built in-house and by the community) that leverage our data engines at negligible costs and fast pace (which would be impossible under the regular “web-app” architecture).

*every product says theirs is groundbreaking. And in a sense everyone is correct in saying so. So we will be clear about what we mean:

Your typical service is simply a website (or “web-app”). ConvexValue is not a website.

It is a purpose built browser with a suite of to-the-point “websites” (modules).

Workflow:

We provide this suite of tools via a purpose-built browser that allows you to create, save, and share dashboards.

This means:

  • no more spaghetti of browser tabs splattered around your screen
  • you can organize points-of-view, trades, ideas, research, etc., into dashboards
  • you can close and reopen dashboards when you need them - maintaining your workspace clean
  • the reduction in unnecessary content allows you to see things without distractions
  • you can share your work with others and participate in collaborate efforts
  • you can learn from others by browsing other’s dashboards.

That’s it for now! Ready to join ConvexValue?
