Options Analytics
A common misconception is that options analytics is solely for options traders.
This is not the case. Options analytics are about understanding market mechanics from the lens of the options market. From this understanding one forms a thesis. From that thesis one executes a trade which may or may not utilize options.
For example - one long-time ConvexValue member solely invests in biotech stocks on a long time-frame. They don’t trade options on the stocks, but they use options analytics to inform their thesis. They closely monitor Open Interest and combine this insight with other fundamental valuation data to come up with an investment idea. They then execute the idea by buying shares - not by trading options.
Another long-time member solely trades ES futures intraday. They use positioning and greek exposure to find key options levels which they use to assist their trading. They also monitor live call and put buying/selling to get a sense of whether intraday moves are running out of steam or are set to continue.
Another long-time member swing-trades big-name stocks on a medium-term time frame. They figure out which the “big name” stocks are by ranking all the stocks by options premium. They they look at options volume to see what are the swing target levels.
Having said that - The ConvexValue Terminal is your portal to the options world. It is a set of tools to better visualize the options market
